Malta is often referred to as a 'happy island', with a pleasant, mediterranean, sunny
lifestyle. But for some people, this is only a distant dream. Their reality is dramatically different.
Their situations can be domestic violence, matrimonial difficulties, child abuse,
mental health problems, unemployment, substandard housing - and homelessness. They come to YMCA
to help them put things right.
People from all walks of life come to YMCA, but they share this: at some point, at some
time in their life something went seriously wrong.
With changed names, these are some of the stories of the people who walked through our doors.
